Welcome to the official website of the International Entomopathogens and Microbial Control Congress 2024 (EMC 24) in Trabzon, Turkey.

The congress will be held between 28-31 October 2024 at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Osman Turan Congress Centre. The congress language is English and English abstracts will be included in the congress booklet.

We aim to bring together scientists who study entomopathogenic microorganisms to share current research, collaborate on new ideas, and develop innovative strategies and approaches.

The use of entomopathogenic microorganisms in agricultural production is gaining importance due to its environmentally friendly, feasible, and sustainable nature in combating harmful insects. Entomopathogenic organisms can be microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, nematodes, and protozoa, as well as other insects that are parasitoids of these insects and predators of harmful insects.

We expect the participation of all scientists and students working in this field in our congress.

DAY TRIP TO BATUM

In the morning at 07.30, we depart from the front of KTU Koru Hotel, picking up our passengers, and head to the Sarp Border Gate. After a short tea break in Rize, we continue our journey towards the Sarp Border Gate. Upon arrival, we proceed with customs procedures and cross into Georgia. Our first stop in Batumi is the St. Andrew Statue, followed by a photo break at the waterfall. After visiting Gonio Fortress, we exchange currency. Upon arrival in Batumi, we embark on a walking tour of the city, where we see the Turkish Quarter and the Turkish Mosque. Optionally, we take a lunch break, followed by a short walk to Piazza Square, which blends harmoniously with the region’s texture. You’ll be delighted by the Clock Tower in the square. We then walk towards Europe Square, where we see the Media Statue, Armenian Church, and Astrological Clock, and have a photo session at Europe Square. Before our free time, our last stops are the Drama Theater Building and the Poseidon Statue. Free time on Batumi Boulevard dating back to the 1800s. We see the Ali & Nino Statue and the Alphabet Tower. After seeing the iconic buildings on the New Boulevard, we depart for the border gate at 18.00. After customs procedures, we return to Turkey and arrive in Trabzon at 22.00.

DAY 1 :   TRABZON | BATUM

We depart from the Moloz Mosque Square at 06.30 in the morning and head to the Sarp Border Gate. We take a break near Rize and continue our journey towards the Sarp Border Gate. After customs procedures at the gate, we cross into Georgia. In Batumi, our first stop is the statue of St. Andrew, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus, and a photo break at the waterfall. Following this, we embark on a walking tour of the city, starting with the Turkish Mosque, followed by a short walk to Piazza Square, which blends harmoniously with the region’s texture. You’ll be delighted by the Clock Tower in the square. We then walk towards Europe Square, where we see the Media Statue, Armenian Church, and Astrological Clock, and have a photo session at Europe Square. Before our free time, our last stops are the Drama Theater Building and the Poseidon Statue. Free time on Batumi Boulevard dating back to the 1800s. DAY 2 : BATUM | BORÇKA KARAGÖL | TRABZON

After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we proceed to the Sarp Border Gate for customs procedures. Once the customs formalities are completed, we take our seats in our vehicle and head to Borçka Karagöl via Hopa. Upon arrival at Borçka Karagöl, we stroll around the lake, enjoying the pleasant surroundings as the leaves of the trees start to change color. After spending a delightful time there, we return to our vehicle and begin our journey back. We make a short tea break along the way and finally reach Trabzon at 18.00, concluding our trip.

DAY 1 :  FIRTINA RIVER – AYDER TOUR

“At 07.30, we depart from Koru Hotel and approximately 2 hours later, we enter the Fırtına River Valley. At 09.30, we take a photo break at the Ottoman Bridge at the entrance to Fırtına River. Then, we arrive at Ayder and after seeing the Gelintülü Waterfall, we have free time in Ayder. At 14.00, we gather at our vehicle and proceed to Çinçiva Village. If available, we take a break for a local lunch at Çinçiva Cafe, then we conclude our day with a visit to Zil Castle. After a tea break in Rize, we reach Trabzon at 19.00, ending our tour.”
